Grievance Redressal Mechanism

The college has a Grievance Redressal cell to redress the grievance of its stakeholders. The students approach the cell to voice their grievances and put the note in the grievance box. The cell redresses the grievances by sorting out the problems promptly and judiciously.

Objectives

  • Developing a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the
  • Encouraging the students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being
  • Suggestion /complaint box is installed in which the students put in writing their grievances and their suggestion for improving the academics/ administration in the college.
  • Advising all the students to refrain from inciting student against other students, teachers and college
  • Advising all the staff members to be affectionate to the students and not to behave in avenging manner towards any of them for any

Scope and Functions

The cell deal with grievances received in writing from the students about any of the following matters:

 

Functions:

 

  • The cases will be attended promptly on receipt of written grievances from the students and
  • The cell formally will review all cases and will act accordingly as per the management
  • The grievance cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary
  • The grievance cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the

The student grievance form provides guidance for students in following the grievance process for academic and non-academic grievances and complaints of unlawful discrimination or unfair treatment.

REPORT OF GRIEVANCE CELL DURING 2017-2018

 

1.     Minutes of the Grievance Cell Committee

On receiving the grievance from girl & boy students on 04-08-2017, a meeting of the committee members was conductedunder chairmanship of the principal to redress the grievance. It was about the cleanliness of the ladies toilets and to arrange a scavenger for the maintenance of toilets. Through the coordination of committee members, a resolution was taken to resolve the problem by arranging a scavenger.

Review Meeting

A review meeting was conducted after redressing the problem to know the arrangements that they are good according to the decision. Students feedback has been taken and came to know that the toilets were in hygienic condition and has been properly maintaining.

 

The committee has resolved the problem within thirty days.

 

 

REPORT OF GRIEVANCE CELL DURING 2017-2018

 

2.     Minutes of the Grievance Cell Committee

A grievance was received from science students for proper electrification and providing ceiling fans in the class rooms. A meeting of the committee members was conducted on 21-09-2017 under chairmanship of the principal to resolve the problem raised by the students.

The problem was discussed and resolution has been taken to arrange for providing ceiling fans.

Women Grievances the Administrative underlined general issues of women grievances and discussed with the member in detail. It was decided to develop principal and procedures by GRS to decide action against any kind of harassment of a girl student lady faculty or staff safety and security to the girl students should be given priority.

The member are happy to learn that the issue of minor complains are dealt by concerned departments effectively and any complains if not dealt, should be forwarded to Grievances Redressal Committee(GRC)

It was decided to nominate a faculty from each department to take care of general issues of faculty Grievances.

A Laboratory Staff of Chemistry, SVM Arts, Science & Commerce College Ilkal complained about misbehavior of student.

Verbal complaints from both sides reached to the GRC wherein after enquiry it was found that the lab staff restricted student to enter office to meet the HoD. Because the Head was seating in an important meeting with administrative person and faculty, hence the suggested the student to come after the meeting is over. But the student was in hurry. In this committee enquires and found that the Lab staff was performing proper duties and the student has to wait till meeting ends.

So it was decided to counsel the student.
